June and Big Decisions

I was just told that we’re going to to finish the Turkish course in a month. So the lessons in two levels that usually take three months to learn, will be forcefully crammed into our heads within a month. I don’t know what methods we will be using but I guess the way to get through it easily is to plant some memory chips in our brains.

Anyway, that doesn’t really matter.

The thing that matters most now is…

We have more than a thousand options of departments and universities we can choose to study in for the next four years. From those 1000+ options, we are needed to choose only twelve; six departments and universities in big cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, and the rest from the smaller cities. Whether they will grant our wish to study in some particular departments and universities or not, will be decided by looking at our academic excellence (high school transcripts, high school certificates, MIDDLE SCHOOL certificates, international tests such as SAT if we have taken it, and language certificates like TOEFL or IELTS), essay, and interview. Not to mention that all are in Turkish, mind you.

SO PEOPLE CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW I AM FEELING. I AM SO FREAKING NERVOUS NOW.

I will have ODTÜ and Hacettepe Üniversitesi as my top two since I really need to stay in Ankara. Beside them, I’ll probably choose Anadolu Üniversitesi in Eskişehir remembering that it’s one of the best universities in the country, and that I’ve experienced studying there before for a mere some weeks. The other options? I honestly don’t have any idea what to choose at all. There are some amazing universities in Istanbul but I don’t think Istanbul is suitable for my studies, too many distractions and crowds and all those things I don’t think I’ll be able to cope with.

/sighs

Moving on.

The good thing from this year’s system is, we are freed to choose private universities. And this is a big deal. I mean, in Turkey, to study in private universities can cost a hundred times higher than studying in some public universities (no matter how respected the universities are in the eyes of the public). The rules for any scholarship students to study in one of these private universities are much stricter, though. It basically tells : you make any trouble, we’ll kick you out.

I’m not a fan of any private universities here in Turkey, but hey, maybe I’ll choose one or two of them.

Regarding my plan to have summer holiday in Indonesia, I can’t seem to get Bandung and my room out of my mind nowadays. I have this urge to go home as soon as possible, to have my family and close friends near me, to breathe the same air with them and all of those cheesy stuffs. I plan to go back on July 15 but guess what.. it’s kind of too late now to get tickets in a relatively cheap price. The school hasn’t announced any dates when they will end the term and we can’t just simply (and ignorantly) buy the tickets right away without knowing anything. I’ve lost hope to get ticket below 1500TL by now which means, I need to ask my parents to pay at least 300TL. I’m a bad daughter, really. Wish me luck, people!

Just, farewell! I won’t possibly be this free in the next month and I’m not sure when I will have all the things done, so, in case I don’t write more and leave my blog abandoned. See you in Indonesia in two months :)

ONCE AGAIN, WISH ME A VERY GREAT LUCK.

Thank you,

Calieda Lupindra.

Bye!

P.S. : No grammar check done, was in a rush writing this so I was probably incoherent and talked nonsense. Pardon!

P.P.S. : The albums I’ve ordered from YesAsia have come safely last week right after I finished exams.

The reality I want…

I believe that we humans can share the world together regardless of their races, beliefs, and nationalities and that humans are meant to help each other. I hate wars because the victims who suffer the most will always be innocent children. People who I despise the most are those who indoctrinate kids to live in grudge and hatred. I sincerely wish they would either repent or simply vanish from the earth’s surface ^^

My name is Heechul, and I’m currently practicing real hard to debut as a singer. I usually enjoy listening to more traditional songs, but the genre of music that I like is very much like my personality: ballads. My blood type is AB - they say that AB’s are either geniuses or idiots. So I guess I’m a genius. Hahaha ^^v If you want to become e-mail buddies, just send me an e-mail through my e-mail address. I’m lonely these days~
